Red-throated Bee-eater Merops bulocki
Description: About 22 centimeters in length, with upperparts mostly green, a black strip along the eye, and a distinctive red throat. It also features a yellow-golden chest and a blue rump.
Distribution and Status: Fairly common, resident in eastern Sudan along the Blue Nile, Rahad, and Dinder rivers from Madani southward.
Habitat: Savannas, mainly well-wooded river courses with high banks.
