Little Bee-eater Merops viridissimus
Description: approximately 15 to 17 centimeters in length, with upperparts in green, featuring a black strip along the eye. It has a yellow throat with a defined black breast band. The underparts transition from chestnut near the black throat strip, turning yellow towards the front and ending with a blue rump.
Distribution and Status: Common, resident from Khartoum south toward, extending east to Kassala and west to central and southern Darfur.
Habitat: Open bushed grasslands and woodlands.
