Magenta (Lilac) Tip Colotis celimene

Description: Sex are different, Male of this species is characterize by purple color in upperside wings with black veins, female have black wing tips in upperside wings and can mix with the other species.

Wingspan: ♂ 32–40mm ♀ 34–40mm.

Distribution in Sudan: fairly common in Nuba mountains and western Sudan in central and southern Darfur. Not confirmed from White Nile, Blue Nile and Sennar states

Distribution: Senegal, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Nigeria, Niger, to Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland.

Habitat: Mainly savannah.
