Yellow Splendour Colotis protomedia
Description:
This species is colored bright yellow Upperside with Black markings, yellow with orange veins underside the sexes are different; male characterize by black veins upperside which absent in female.
Distribution:
Cameroon, Chad, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Niger, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Yemen.
Distribution in Sudan:
It is very common and widespread thought central of Sudan east to red sea hills and north along Nile valley up to Atbara.
Habitat:
Mainly dry savannah but also found in agricultural fields and gardens.
