Egyptian Catsnake Telescopus obtusus
Description:
A snake with a flat head well constricted off from the neck, with vertically elliptic pupils margined by a golden or orange iris and with paired anals. The ventrals number 213 to 272, the subcaudals 65 to 82 pairs and the dorsals 21 to 23 in the row.
Habitat
Found in wide range of habitat from Semi-desert and arid region to savanna.
Distribution:
Northeast and Central Africa in Egypt, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Central African Republic, Chad, Uganda.
Distribution in Sudan:
Khartoum, Gezira, Blue Nile, Sennar, White Nile, River Nile, and Kassala states.
Medical Important:
harmless, venomous but not represent dangerous to human.
